Freudenberg Performance Materials is showcasing Evolon packaging solutions for sensitive surfaces of automotive parts at Fachpack 2025. The textiles protect moulded plastic parts and painted components, reduce transport damage and waste - and support OEMs with quality assurance and climate targets.
The materials consist of up to 85 per cent recycled material and are produced using low-CO₂ energy, according to the company. They are lightweight and reusable, thus reducing the carbon footprint of the packaging. „By using recyclates, we have been able to reduce the emissions of our textile production by 35 per cent. We are currently looking into switching to 100 per cent recycled material,“ says Jean-François Kerhault, Director Global Sales & Marketing General Industry.
Despite low basis weights of 80 to 300 g/sqm, the textiles fulfil the mechanical requirements of the automotive industry. Evolon Ultra Force is new: around 50 per cent lighter than comparable PVC materials, at least 50 per cent recycled content and PVC-free. Designed for reusable processes, the packaging avoids disposable waste and can remain in use throughout the life cycle of a vehicle model.
