Two recyclable pouch concepts from the Südpack film family, CarbonLite, will be in the spotlight at the interpack exhibition on the SN stand: a PurePE stand-up pouch with a zip closure for grated cheese, and a PP-based stand-up pouch with an integrated spout for fruit purée. Both materials are already prepared for the requirements of the PPWR by 2030 in terms of their recyclability.
The stand-up pouch made of PurePE offers a practical solution for the packaging of grated cheese. The material is fully recyclable and already meets the requirements that will become mandatory from 2030. The zip closure allows for easy handling and re-sealability, which extends the product's shelf life and increases consumer convenience.
For the production of these bags, Südpack relies on machines from SN Maschinenbau. The high-performance hygienics machine FLH 300 is used for the production of the stand-up pouch. This machine enables the production of large quantities in a short time.
Additionally, the new HSF 100 spout pouch packaging machine will be presented, which is specifically designed for small to medium output quantities and quick product changes. This machine is particularly suitable for the production of the PP-based stand-up pouch with spout, which is used for fruit puree. The integrated spout makes pouring easier and makes the pouch particularly user-friendly.

Sustainable solutions
As a packaging concept, SN chose a Spouted Pouch PurePP with a material thickness of 121 µm for its trade fair appearance in consultation with Südpack. This film also comes from the film manufacturer's CarbonLite product family and can be equipped with the required oxygen and water vapour barrier and UV protection. The film, spout and pouch packaging machine components were coordinated as part of a complete system by the three manufacturers Südpack, Menshen and SN Maschinenbau to ensure a stable processing operation as well as excellent sealing and burst strength of the filled pouches, even for demanding applications such as hot filling or pasteurisation.
Another advantage: the spout solution has a recyclability of 96 percent, certified by the cyclos-HTP institute. According to an LCA analysis by Sphera, the CO2-The carbon footprint of the CarbonLite PurePP film is 57 per cent lower overall compared to a conventional PET-aluminium film solution.
