The packaging industry faces the challenge of adapting to the rapid changes in omnichannel commerce and new legal regulations. At Interpack, ABB's Machine Automation Division is offering solutions specifically tailored to these requirements.

The focus of the presentation is on the Acopostrak and Acopos 6D transport systems. These not only enable flexible and dynamic product movement, but also precise coordination of sorting, conveying, handling, and inspection. By integrating image processing systems, quality assurance can be seamlessly incorporated into the production process.

These systems are based on B&R's magnetically levitating planar technology and enable contactless product movement. They are ideal for environments with high product variation and frequent format changes. Thanks to micrometer-precise positioning and no mechanical wear, they offer quick commissioning and flexible adjustment options. This not only reduces the cost per article number but also increases the number of processed SKUs per minute.

Open-Robotics-Workstation

The Open Robotics Workstation demonstrates how powerful integration is possible through open robotic mechanics. In combination with B&R control technology, precise synchronisation with axes and conveyor systems is achieved. This reduces integration effort and increases the efficiency of the entire system.

ABB's solutions are designed to help manufacturers remain flexible and optimise their production processes. They assist in reducing waste and meeting the increasing demands for speed, variety of options, and sustainability.
