Ifco has successfully recertified its European Lift Lock reusable containers according to the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard Version 4.1. This Silver certification confirms compliance with stringent requirements in areas such as material health, circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness.

The Cradle to Cradle certification is considered a recognised benchmark for the circularity and sustainability performance of products. The programme assesses the materials used and examines how a product's manufacturing, use, and recycling affect the environment and society. For retailers and manufacturers, this certification offers independent confirmation that products are environmentally friendly and safe for health.

The European Lift Lock reusable containers have been recertified to the new Version 4.1 standard with Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver. The recertification confirms that the reusable transport containers for fresh produce continue to meet the stringent requirements for Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water & Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness. They remain the only reusable crates for fresh food with this Full Scope Silver designation.

Furthermore, the IFCO European Lift Lock RPCs (Reusable Packaging Containers) have also achieved Silver in two further Cradle to Cradle Certified® certifications: Circularity and Material Health. Together, the three certifications offer retailers and growers independent verification of the sustainability, health safety, and circularity of the IFCO SmartCycle model.

„Retailers and producers want independent verification in the areas most important to them: material compatibility and circularity. While Full-Scope certification comprehensively assesses the sustainability performance of our RPCs, the two additional certificates provide in-depth, independent verification of the performance areas particularly relevant to our customers.“
