Increasing demands for sustainability and efficiency are shaping the packaging industry. Lenze offers solutions that reduce complexity and increase flexibility.

The packaging industry is under pressure to develop ever more efficient and sustainable solutions. Regulatory requirements such as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) are forcing OEMs to fundamentally rethink their machines and processes. Lenze is using these challenges as an opportunity to present innovative drive solutions at interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf.

Energy-efficient drive technology

A key component of the trade fair presentation is the IE5/IE6 motor drive system. In combination with the i650 motec frequency converter, it offers a decentralised solution that impresses with its high energy efficiency. This technology not only enables sensorless positioning, but also regenerative capability, which further reduces energy consumption. Lenze thus supports OEMs in processing sustainable packaging materials while offering flexible adaptation of the machine architecture.

Optimised robotics solutions

Another highlight is inline robotics, which is optimised by Lenze's „Feasible Application Software Toolbox“. This software, known as „Lenze Fast“, enables pick-and-place processes to be carried out without cycle interruption. The Robotics Template used significantly reduces engineering effort, as it parameterises robotics instead of programming them. This leads to shorter cycle times and increased line performance.

Modular machine concepts

Lenze also demonstrates how modular machines can be planned and implemented more easily through their open architecture. The Lenze Juggler showcases how high-performance servo drives can handle complex motion requirements while remaining more compact than mechanical solutions. This architecture enables seamless integration of motion, logic, and HMI functions, even at high cycle rates.

Exemplary application

A practical example is provided by the Trayformer from Mpac. Under the motto „Motion enabled by Lenze,“ it demonstrates how innovative rotary infeed concepts are replacing conventional ram systems, thereby enabling high production speeds. Lenze's dynamic drive technology ensures reliable synchronisation and supports the transition towards plastic-free packaging solutions through the use of environmentally friendly cardboard containers.
