The Empack Hamburg has further strengthened its position as a regional platform for the packaging industry.
Alongside the parallel trade fairs Logistics & Automation and all about automation, the trade fair trio attracted a total of 4,105 specialist visitors on 2 and 3 June. This represents a visitor increase of 16 percent compared to the previous year. A total of 344 exhibitors presented their solutions along the value chain of packaging, intralogistics, and automation.
According to organiser Easyfairs, the development highlights the importance of regional trade fairs for direct exchange and investment decisions in industry. By combining the three events, visitors were able to cover topics from packaging and logistics to automation in one place.
PPWR shapes the trade fair programme
The focus was on the implementation of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). At the trade fair, companies presented, among other things, new packaging solutions, protective and transport packaging, labelling technologies, and automated end-of-line systems.
Intralogistics and robotics as growth drivers
Alongside Empack, Logistics & Automation showcased solutions for material flow, warehouse technology and automation. Exhibitors included Toyota Material Handling, Linde Material Handling, SSI Schäfer and T-Systems, among others. The companies reported a high quality of contacts and concrete investment projects.
A particular focus was placed on the topic of mobile robotics. Guided tours and practical examples demonstrated how mobile robots can be integrated into existing intralogistics processes. The autonomous truck loading presented by Linde Material Handling, which was showcased as a world first at the trade fair, also attracted attention.
Conversation quality as a success factor
Several exhibitors highlighted the quality of the expert discussions and the high proportion of decision-makers. From a visitor's perspective, the linking of the three trade fairs was also positively evaluated. Packaging, automation, and logistics are closely interconnected in practice and are therefore reflected in the joint trade fair concept.
The next Empack Hamburg will take place on 1 and 2 June 2027 at the Hamburg Messe exhibition centre. The Logistics & Automation exhibition will also be held concurrently.
