ALL4PACK, the merger of the former Emballage and Manutention trade fairs, will take place in Paris from 26 to 29 November 2018.
At the international trade fair for packaging and logistics, around 1,500 exhibitors and brands (50 per cent from abroad) are expecting more than 85,000 professionals (around 35 per cent from abroad) from a total of 100 countries for the packaging, processing, printing and handling sectors.
In collaboration with the EPDA (European Brand & Packaging Design Association), the organisers asked 22 designers from 16 European and North African countries for their opinion on the current requirements for the packaging industry surveyed. The survey institute YouGov also interviewed 8,253 consumers in six countries about their expectations of future industry innovations.
Change in the packaging industry
The survey results allow conclusions to be drawn about the main Challenges until 2050 and indicate a fundamental change in the packaging industry: packaging will continue to be the focus of attention due to or precisely because of innovations. It will undoubtedly be more environmentally friendly and take greater account of consumer requirements.
Four key challenges will have a significant impact on developments and drive change in the packaging industry: the Ageing population, the increasing Lack of natural resources, the further development of the artificial intelligence and the further development of mobility through autonomous vehicles.
European Conference „PETnology“
The 21st conference, which will take place in Paris on 26 and 27 November 2018, is breaking new ground in collaboration with the ALL4PACK trade fair. The decision in favour of Paris as the venue underlines the increasing Internationalisation of the event.
PETnology Europe will focus on technical and technological developments along the value chain for blown, thermoformed and pre-stretched packaging systems. The latest developments in the areas of materials, films, semi-finished products, closures, bottles and containers, labelling and recycling are the answer to the current market requirements such as the circular economy, sustainability, digitalisation and eco-design.
Consumers want sustainable packaging. This is why companies that put packaging into circulation, such as manufacturers of consumer goods, food and beverages, are working intensively on collaborations with packaging manufacturers and recycling companies as well as humanitarian and environmental organisations. Converters and machine and system manufacturers along the value chain are responding to this by Sustainability optimise their products and processes, work together and present new approaches for the manufacturing industry.
Partnerships and networking are further focal points of the conference. Through digital processes, networking can accelerate the development of suitable and, above all, sustainable solutions.
