The Berlin start-up „share“ plans to fill around one million bottles of water made entirely from recycled PET every month next year. According to the company, this will save around 200 tonnes of plastic waste.
According to the press release share the first beverage manufacturer in Germany to offer its drinks in Bottles made from 100 per cent recycled material bottled. share sells its product through REWE supermarkets and dm drugstores, among others.
During the realisation of this ambitious project, the KHS Group the water start-up with its „Bottles & Shapes“-consultancy services for the development and Design of the bottle. Marc Eysel, responsible for sales in the Northern Europe region at KHS Corpoplast, reports that producing the bottle with the recycled material was even easier than with PET bottles made from virgin material.
Incentives created for more sustainability
The still and sparkling water is produced in the Mineralbrunnen factory. Allgäu alpine water bottled in Oberstaufen using KHS technology. The bottles are moulded on a Stretch blow moulding machine „InnoPET Blomax“.

Following the market launch of the recyclate bottle, interest is also growing among other beverage producers. Marc Eysel reports: „A number of bottlers have contacted us who want to increase the proportion of recycled PET.“ Meanwhile, share is hoping to find the right incentives for more Sustainability have created. Iris Braun, who co-founded share, nevertheless states: „In the end, it's the consumer who decides.“
