Info pack provides a practical overview of the sustainability of flexible packaging

Flexible Packaging Europe publishes an information pack on the sustainability aspects of flexible packaging. The product benefits are presented in an easily understandable way.

Flexible packaging is sustainable, according to the manufacturers„ association “Flexible Packaging Europe" (FPE). In order to better inform interested parties and the general public, the association has published a collection of information material on flexible packaging on its website.

The so-called Info toolkit includes image, graphic and text modules that deal with Sustainability aspects of flexible packaging deal. Jean-Paul Duquet, FPE Director for Sustainability, explains the overall message of the collection of information: „When it comes to sustainability, flexible packaging actually offers many advantages, as scientifically proven facts show - especially when you look at the big picture.“ FPE wants to emphasise that flexible packaging can support sustainable consumption and the sustainable packaging of food.

„The sustainability of packaging is a complex issue. We have endeavoured to reduce this complexity by using facts and figures at European level to provide a practical overview of much-discussed topics such as the circular economy and food waste.“

Infographics, posters, fact sheet and pocket guide

Among other things, the information pack contains Infographics. In it, viewers learn, for example, that flexible packaging helps to reduce the use of packaging materials, preserve valuable contents and prevent food waste. The pack also includes posters, a fact sheet and a pocket guide. The publications are available in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. Polish and Turkish versions are in preparation, announces FPE.

Display

According to Jean-Paul Duquet, flexible packaging is particularly resource efficient, because they fulfil their exact purpose and require very little material and energy over the entire life cycle of the product.
