Dosing should be safer and more precise with the new tube that Hoffmann Neopac has developed in co-operation with Streuli Pharma AG. The new „Polyfoil dropper tube“ is designed for the application of vitamin D drops. Previously, glass vials with pipettes were used for this purpose.

According to the Swiss specialist for metal and plastic packaging, the new tube solution is particularly beneficial for babies and small children up to the age of three and has been on the market since spring. They often have to be given Vitamin D dripped into the mouth. Streuli, which has been in operation for 150 years Pharmaceuticals primarily for the Swiss market, had come up with the idea of a precise Drip mechanism to simplify the dosage form of oral vitamin D Neopac according to the press release.

Light pressure releases precisely dosed drops

The result is a special Tube: Light pressure on the tube releases individual drops. Each drop contains 200 „international units“ of vitamin D. The Glass-free packaging can be inserted directly into the mouth. Neopac also emphasises that it is easy to transport.

„By jointly developing the vitamin D dropper tube, we have simplified the administration of the drops for parents and made dosing more precise and safer.“

The Polyfoil dropper tube has a diameter of 19 millimetres. It is fitted with a Screw cap equipped. It also has a special insert for contents in liquid, oily or serum form. A special mechanism allows the tube to be adjusted to the correct position. Product texture to achieve the optimum Droplet size to dose.

Polyfoil has optimum barrier properties

Neopac describes the Polyfoil material chosen for the tube as ideal for the desired use. It has special Barrier properties on. For example, it protects against potentially harmful external factors such as moisture and oxygen. Products in this packaging have a longer shelf life than those in packaging made from Polyethylene or Polypropylene, emphasises Neopac.

Compared to existing tube solutions, the Sealing cap redesigned. Initial filling tests had shown that the fine spout was too close to the dripper thread.
