Dematic is presenting its automation solutions in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) for the first time at the Robotics 4Retail Conference 2019 (R4R). The event will be hosted by the EHI Retail Institute on 4 and 5 September at the GS1 Germany Knowledge Center in Cologne.
At the conference Current and future fields of application of automation with a focus on robotics in retail logistics. In a presentation, Winnie Ahrens, Senior Sales Manager at Dematic, will provide detailed insights into this topic.

Focus on automation in retail logistics
The company is continuing to focus its research and development on robot-assisted systems. The service portfolio includes, for example autonomous robotics solutions for layer-by-layer and piece-by-piece depalletising, container refilling, material transport, palletising and piece goods picking.
Last year, Dematic launched the „Robotics Centre of Excellence“ founded a business unit that specialises in the development and technology of robot-assisted automation.

Expert presentations as part of the programme
Visitors to the R4R can see the results for themselves at the Dematic stand. In addition to the exhibition Practical presentations on current technology trends in retail as part of the conference programme.
Ahrens talks about a differentiated material flow with integrated robot intelligence. The topic will then be continued by Roger Campbell, Head of Automation & Intralogistics Service at KION sister company Linde Material Handling.
On the second day of the event, Ahrens will take part in a panel discussion with inventors, scientists and users, in which the Practical implementation of automation in retail is the focus of the programme. The programme will be hosted by Uwe Schulz, presenter at WDR 5.
