BrauBeviale is celebrating its „mountain festival“ in Nuremberg this year. The capital goods trade fair for beverage production and marketing always takes place three times in a row and then takes a break for a year. BrauBeviale 2019 will now take place in Nuremberg from 12 to 14 November 2019, the second event in the current block of three.
After last year's successful event, according to NürnbergMesse, the bar has been set particularly high this year. 1,100 exhibitors took part in last year's BrauBeviale. More than 40,000 visitors from 132 countries were interested in what it had to offer. Similar figures are expected for BrauBeviale 2019. „This year, we are once again looking forward to welcoming old acquaintances and new participants, global players as well as SMEs and start-ups,“ says Andrea Kalrait, Head of BrauBeviale at the NurembergFair, The expected field of exhibitors will be presented here. This year, Russia, Italy, the USA, Belgium and Korea are the special country focuses.
Packaging industry meets in Halls 4 and 4A
Visitors from the Packaging industry will be focussing on Halls 4A and 4. This is where companies from the packaging industry will gather to showcase everything to do with beverage packaging. But Halls 5 and 6 should also be of interest: The focus there will be on accessories and marketing.

Traditionally Beer lover will get their money's worth at BrauBeviale. This is ensured by guided beer tastings in the „Craft Drinks Area“. On the first day of the trade fair, barley juice fans can also vote for their favourite beer in the „European Beer Star“ award.
Just one day before the trade fair, two symposia invite visitors to take a closer look at current developments in the beverage industry: the 7th European MicroBrew Symposium the Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei in Berlin (VLB) and the „Export Forum German Beverages“.
Too few returnable bottles are returned
The additional supporting programme offers lectures, presentations and panel discussions in the „Forum BrauBeviale“. In addition to raw materials and technologies, the focus there will also be on beverage packaging and marketing. According to the organisers' expectations, the forum on the afternoon of the second day of the trade fair will be exciting. Representatives from the various trade associations and the Deposit value chain the topic of „bottle deposit“.
The background: It is about one of the showpieces of the Circular economy, the deposit bottle. The conceptual sponsor of BrauBeviale 2019, Privaten Brauereien Bayern, believes that the deposit amounts are too low to incentivise people to actually return the empties. Small and medium-sized breweries in particular suffer from the insufficient return of the valuable Glass packaging. New purchases of returnable bottles are expensive. Many drinks manufacturers are already facing the question of their very existence.
Numerous innovations will be presented in special shows. The winning entries of the „World Packaging Awards“ shows the World Packaging Organisation in the special show „Innovative beverage packaging“. Young German companies will once again be presenting their newly developed products and processes for the beverage industry at the „Innovation made in Germany“ joint stand. The stand is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
