Sustainability and efficiency in pouch packaging

Volpak, a Coesia Group company and manufacturer of pouch packaging machines, is presenting three machines at interpack, all in a „ready for sustainability“ version.

„Ready for sustainability“ in this context means: a Wide range of solutions, that are able to fulfil the packaging-specific requirements of consumer goods companies - from high to low speeds and with Comprehensive flexibility in terms of formats, from flat bags to resealable doypack bags with zip and corner cap options. The highlight will be the SC+ machine a continuous high-speed pouch packaging machine and the flagship of the flow-wrapping machine range. The SC+ exhibited at interpack produces 1-litre doypacks with corner cap at speeds of 280 pieces per minute and has features such as quick size change and the ability to process recyclable material.

The SI platform has all the features required today Internet 4.0 capabilities and the possibility of running with recyclable material. It is supported by the Model SI280 which runs in an integrated system with an RAJ cartoner and Flexlinks conveyor and palletising solution. In addition, the Enflex range with the new F-17DX aircraft an easy-to-operate flat pouch machine.

More than machines: Achieving sustainability through partnerships 

Volpak also intends to present a New concept of cooperation emphasise and strengthen the value chain. All players in the value chain are involved in this collaboration, from machine suppliers and packaging material manufacturers to the end customer, to develop truly sustainable and value-adding projects. For this reason, in 2019 Volpak launched the PouchLab a facility focussing on research and development, where customers and partners can carry out various tests in order to optimise the Technological properties of different materials and to define the optimum pouch packaging for each specific case, whereby Sustainability, ease of use and durability requirements must be taken into account.
