Optima, headquartered in Schwäbisch Hall, has invested 3.5 million euros in modernisation measures. A new 1,600 square metre assembly area with associated infrastructure has been created. This should enable machines to be assembled even more efficiently. Employees benefit from a state-of-the-art infrastructure and optimised climatic conditions.
As part of the restructuring of materials management and the opening of the logistics centre in July 2019, the high-bay warehouse at the Steinbeisweg site was no longer needed and was dismantled. In its place, the New „Nonwovens West“ assembly area“ with an area of 1,600 square metres. It is now fully utilised. This means that the Optima Nonwovens division now has a Assembly area of 5,200 square metres in total. The hall is equipped with the latest gigabit network cables. This means that Optima Nonwovens is optimally prepared for virtual acceptance tests. Cranes that can carry loads of up to 5 tonnes facilitate the relocation of assemblies and machine modules.
Pleasant working conditions
In the course of this, the statics and the skylight domes were also renewed, which now allow considerably less heat into the building, provide brightness and ensure a Better air circulation make this possible. This significantly improves the working conditions for employees in the warehouse, parts production and assembly. A vestibule, a special airlock with three high-speed doors in the area of the goods entrance, which protects employees inside the hall from draughts, also contributes to this. Dimmable LED strip lights on the hall walls ensure optimum lighting. A catering area for employees was also integrated. The entire site, including the administration wing, is supplied with district heating.
