In the world of powdered bulk goods, different supply chains have different packaging requirements. Against the background of a variety of packaging solutions and processes, BillerudKorsnäs and Haver & Boecker have developed a list of recommendations.

The standards for bag packaging are intended to cover the basics and the most critical factors that need to be taken into account, when powdered goods are packaged. Starting with paper production, through handling, storage, production and filling of the bags to the correct transport and storage of the filled bags.

Avoiding waste worldwide

The aim of the two companies was to develop a common language for the packaging value chain, to avoid waste anywhere in the world and ensure efficient packaging performance.

„Globalisation makes it vital to speak clearly and unambiguously in one language. With the sack packaging standards, together with BillerudKorsnäs, we have created the basis for common and helpful communication for perfect paper sack packaging.“ Thomas Hilling, Managing Director of the Haver & Boecker Institute.

As an industry, we will significantly reduce waste.“ Mikael Peterson, Head of Technical Services at BillerudKorsnäs.
