The replacement date for VISION 2020 has been set: Messe Stuttgart will be organising the next world's leading trade fair for machine vision next year. It will take place from 5 to 7 October 2021 parallel to MOTEK.

The trade fair organiser is thus fulfilling the wishes of the exhibitors and visitors surveyed. In an extensive survey, a clear majority (75% of the exhibitors and 81% of the visitors surveyed) were in favour of the face-to-face event next year. The new date in the odd-numbered trade fair year is to be retained in the long term. It lies parallel to Motek, the international trade fair for production and assembly automation,

In addition to the measures already initiated for 2020, such as the launch of VISION Start-up World, the trade fair experience is to be digitally enhanced. However, a virtual replacement for the cancelled trade fair in 2020 is not planned.

The VISION 2020 trade fair will not take place this year due to the high internationality of the exhibitors in combination with the ongoing travel restrictions.

Over the past few weeks, the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre in intensive dialogue with the exhibitors at VISION.

Vision will take place for the 29th time in Stuttgart from 10 to 12 November 2020. This year more than ever, the world's leading trade fair for machine vision will be characterised by the dynamic changes in the industry.

Dynamic industry

The consolidation of the machine vision market, which had been predicted for a long time, has been very dynamic in recent months. It has led to considerable structural change. As a result of these developments, in addition to established exhibitors Basler, Cognex, IDS, HIK Vision, MVTec, Sony, Stemmer Imaging, Teledyne Dalsa and many other international market leaders will enrich Vision 2020.

As New exhibitors young companies such as Autosensic, DeeDiim Sensors and Photolitics will present their innovative approaches to various image processing applications. This year, the TKH Group will present the combined potential of its brands Allied Vision, Chromasens, Mikrotron, NET, SVS-Vistek, Tattile and LMI.

Exhibitors including Arrow, deepsense.ai, Inspekto, Lucid Vision Labs, LuxFlux, Perception Park, SqueezeBrains and The Imaging Source will be demonstrating the applications that such systems can now be used for in a wide range of industrial and non-industrial fields.

The Acceptance of image processing in automation processes has increased significantly, as demonstrated by the participation of B&R and Beckhoff. Both companies are known primarily from the world of control and automation and will be presenting their concepts to visitors at their trade fair stands for the first time in Stuttgart.

Encouraging level of registrations for Vision 2020

Messe Stuttgart is very satisfied with the current level of registrations. Currently over 300 exhibitsr have booked their stand space. Niethammer expects a total of around 500 exhibiting companies at the start of the event.
