With the Pack 202, Syntegon Technology is launching a fully automated horizontal flow-wrapping machine for low to medium speeds. It is suitable for bars, baked goods, biscuits and crackers as well as for non-food applications.

The Pack 202 is a flow-wrapping machine for Heat seal applications. It processes different packaging styles, including tubular bags, side-seam bags and bags with an integrated opening aid.

According to the company, manufacturers benefit from a number of technological advances in the successor to the Pack 201. These were first introduced last year with the new Pack 403.

"Our new flow-wrapping machine for small to medium-sized manufacturers has it all: we have been able to integrate some of the features of our Pack 403 for medium to high speeds into the new Pack 202. The machine is easy to operate, clean and maintain. This reduces downtime and maximises the overall effectiveness of the system." Improved seal quality

The new machine is particularly suitable for Multi-product packs. It packs individual or grouped products such as baked goods, bars, fresh and frozen products, confectionery, snacks, medical products and many other food and non-food items.

The Pack 202 benefits from a number of improvements to the cross and seal seams. These were first introduced last year on the Pack 403 flow-wrapping machine. The lamella edges of the Pack 202 have been synchronised. They now also have an improved tilt mechanism. Machine operators can tilt and adjust the lamella modules by turning a knob. This ensures Easily reproducible, consistent sealing seams.

Furthermore, the cross-sealing unit of the Pack 202 has been significantly improved. The standard double spring kit offers more consistent and stable sealing seams compared to the previous model. At the same time, the setting resolution has been doubled. This enables more precise and reproducible crimper settings.

Simple handling of the Pack 202

User-friendliness and ease of use are at the centre of the new machine's design. Consecutively numbered film rolls simplify the threading of the film. This enables Reproducible, constant format changes. Trial-and-error adjustments are also eliminated, which reduces downtime. As an option, the flow-wrapping machine can be equipped with an automatic film splicer. Laser-engraved instructions on the cover plate enable Fast and smooth film changes without machine downtime.

The standard version of the Pack 202 for the European market has a new film guide with a 450-millimetre film width and two unwinders. It is also equipped with a Beckhoff controller and an HMI 4.0. The two unwinders are also optionally available in a 650-millimetre film width.

In addition, the Pack 202 is equipped with a new discharge belt equipped. The upper part of the discharge belt is easily removable. This ensures fast belt changes and cleaning processes. The detection function on the belt identifies faulty packs and automatically ejects them using compressed air. In addition, a two-metre-long discharge module with a discharge plough can be integrated as an option for larger and heavier products.
