The packaging and paper company Mondi is presenting the latest innovations and highlights from its Uncoated Fine Paper division. These include new colours of the PERGRAPHICA® design paper brand and a new grass paper for premium packaging.
IQ GRASS+ PACKAGING is one of the latest developments in the field of alternative raw materials that utilises fast-growing grass as a raw material. Mondi has developed the new product in close co-operation with customers. One Combination of 30 percent grass fibres and 70 percent sustainable virgin fibres gives the new product a unique feel and a natural appearance.
The new grass paper is suitable for packaging made from corrugated or solid board, for example. Compared to conventional uncoated fine papers, IQ GRASS+ PACKAGING significantly higher tear resistance on. It is also optimised for flexographic printing processes, which are used in particular for printing packaging, and has a Certification in the area of food safety. The new material will be available throughout Europe from September 2020. The first projects with customers have already been successfully realised
Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper introduces new colour shades
Another innovation: Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper has introduced 31 new colours and qualities of its premium design paper brand PERGRAPHICA®. In addition to 10 rich and 10 light colours, the new portfolio also includes 10 muted and deep shades as well as the recently introduced PERGRAPHICA® Infinite Black. They are particularly suitable for for luxury packaging for cosmetics, perfumes, wines, champagne and spirits and for premium shopping bags. The new deep and muted colours are presented in the Wow Box. Using special finishing techniques, it shows how PERGRAPHICA® can be used for various luxury packaging applications.
The entire PERGRAPHICA® range is manufactured in Austria. The uncoated premium design paper fulfils the strict international sustainability standards of the FSC and the EU Ecolabel. All PERGRAPHICA® colours and qualities are also part of the Green Range, Mondi's umbrella brand for sustainable paper solutions. Both the white colours and Infinite Black are certified in the area of food safety.
