MULTIVAC has launched a new series of direct web printers for the lower and medium output range of thermoforming packaging machines. The cost-efficient entry-level models in the BASELINE DP 110/130 series are characterised by their space-saving design, optimum hygiene properties and high flexibility in terms of printing technologies.

Direct web printers are used to print packaging films efficiently and reliably within the packaging machine. In addition to the DP 2×0 series, MULTIVAC has now developed two cost-effective entry-level models, the DP 110 and DP 130, which do not, however, compromise on optimum hygiene properties and maximum safety standards. Both models can be used universally on all thermoforming packaging machines in the R 0xx to R 5xx series.

The design leaves the loading area completely free. As no enclosure is required due to the stepper motor drives used, quick and easy access to the printer is possible. Three different printing technologies are available for the printing process: thermal transfer printing, inkjet printing and thermal inkjet printing.

All MULTIVAC direct web printers are specially adapted to the respective packaging machine and form a single unit in terms of both design and control technology. Both the traversing axes and the MULTIVAC printers can be operated directly via the operating terminal of the packaging machine. Machine parameters are saved via the recipe management system and automatically transferred during a batch change. This ensures fast changeover to other products or pack sizes and a high level of line availability.
