Tilt Industries, a young product development company based in the Lower Rhine region, has now developed plastic-free shipping packaging that is particularly suitable for small orders. Without additional filling material, they are held securely in place by a cardboard flap.
In the growing online trade, the unused space in many parcels is filled with filling material. This annoys customers who have to dispose of the material, and is at the expense of sustainability. On the other hand, mail order companies incur costs if they have to fill parcels with air cushions or packaging chips.
With their newly developed PangoPak shipping packaging wants Tilt Industries offer online retailers an alternative. „Our main aim was to make packaging more sustainable and simpler,“ says Managing Director Matthias Dicks.
The new cardboard packaging has a device for securing the goods: the a special fixing element - also made of cardboard - shipping items are securely braced. The use of filling material is no longer necessary. „With PangoPak, shipping goods becomes more sustainable, more cost-effective and conserves valuable resources.“

PangoPak for small orders
Securing goods is very quick and easy to use. A long cardboard strip is placed over the shipping items in the packaging, the fixing flap is guided outwards through a slit at the back and glued over an adhesive point. The PangoPak can then be closed and dispatched. The outer dimensions of the carton remain the same, making it stackable and easy to dispatch. Advantage: The Goods are secured regardless of the shape of the items. And the cardboard packaging can also be used later for returns.
„PangoPak is the ideal solution for small orders in particular. Even several small items fit in securely. This has been shown by initial tests, for which we sent sample consignments with various products.“ Matthias Dicks, Managing Director
The shipping packaging is therefore well suited to retailers such as Otto, Conrad or Amazon, which Often small parts in one programme dispatch.
PangoPak is not yet on the market, but samples already exist. „We are currently looking for partners from the packaging industry, have the machine capacity and would manufacture our product,“ reports Matthias Dicks. Contact has also already been made with mail order companies and the plastic-free shipping packaging has been presented.
