At Fachpack, Bericap will be showcasing consumer and climate-friendly, tamper-proof closure solutions, including a silicone-free valve made of thermoplastic elastomer and a new tethered caps solution.
The manufacturer of plastic and aluminium closures is presenting several solutions that are characterised by an environmentally friendly, recyclable design. Developed for this purpose Bericap has been developing its products towards a lighter construction and lower material usage. In particular, the increased use of recycled materials (PCR = post-consumer resin) contributes to reducing the CO2 footprint and promoting the circular economy.
Recyclable and 100 per cent silicone-free
With BericapValve, the company has realised a new closure solution that, unlike the silicone valves often used for spreadables, is made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). This prevents BericapValve from contaminating the recycling process with silicone. The sustainable closure solution was developed by Interseroh certified with top marks. The jury of the Packaging Europe Sustainability Awards selected the BericapValve as the 2020 winner in the „Recyclable Packaging“ category.
In order to avoid environmental impacts, EU Directive 2019/904 stipulates that plastic caps must remain attached to the bottle even after opening from July 2024. Bericap has developed these „tethered caps“ developed the ClipAside solution, which offers consistent performance and a high level of customer comfort across all important muzzle sizes. The screw caps have been redesigned to meet all technical specifications.
With ClipAside solutions, the beverage industry has the opportunity to fulfil tomorrow's requirements today - without having to change production processes or bottles. Existing filling systems can be converted to tethered caps quickly and cost-optimised. With the Falcon and Eagle models, the company also offers two snap-on closures for use with still mineral water, which also fulfil the „tethered“ requirements of EU Directive 2019/904.

New aluminium range
Bericap is also presenting its new aluminium range for the first time at Fachpack. Through the acquisition of Mala GmbH in Thuringia, a specialist for aluminium roll-on closures, the closure manufacturer was able to expand its product portfolio in a complementary way: In addition to aluminium closures for the wine sector that can be flexibly decorated, Bericap will in future offer both plastic and aluminium closures for edible oil, vinegar and mineral water. Spirits producers can also obtain everything from a single source - from simple Roll On Pilfer Proof (ROPP) closures to highly complex safety closures.

Bericap Ring Peel Liner protects against counterfeiting
In the area of product and quality protection, the company has a tamper-evident seal with the Ring Peel Liner which can be opened easily and without tools, allows the liquid to be poured out cleanly and seals securely when resealed. The ring peel liner can also be custom-printed, which both supports the customer's brand and protects against counterfeiting.

„After this long period without a trade fair, we are all the more pleased to be able to meet with customers and partners from the international packaging industry again and present our innovation topics, new products and our new corporate design in person at our trade fair stand.“ Alexander Knipp, Sales Director Food Closures & Business Segment Leader KMS at Bericap.
