The Project Group completes a generational change and founds Project Automation & Consulting GmbH, a subsidiary focussing on engineering and consulting services.
Stefan and Uschi Opgenorth as well as Johannes Jansen and Ingrid Quartier-Jansen will take on other roles at the automation specialist as of 1 October. Project group of companies from Kranenburg (NRW). Uschi Opgenorth and Ingrid Quartier-Jansen will concentrate on accounting tasks. Stefan Opgenorth and Johannes Jansen focus on their role as owners/shareholders.
Jan Hanenkamp, Sebastian Münnekhoff and Ingo Rathmann, three long-standing managers, are now managing directors of two subsidiaries. Ingo Rathmann takes over the management of the newly founded Project Automation & Consulting GmbH. This is the Response to increasing demand for pure engineering services. As part of the Project Group, the new Project Automation & Consulting GmbH can utilise the extensive implementation experience of its sister company as added value in its work.
Continuity in the generation change
Jan Hanenkamp and Sebastian Münnekhoff in turn become equal managing directors of Project Service & Produktion GmbH. The tasks of the Project A&E integrated. Project Service & Produktion GmbH thus implements sophisticated automation solutions for packaging processes, including for the beverage, food and hygiene industry, but also in the wood, steel, construction, glass, paper and textile industries.

Previously, the design engineers worked almost exclusively on internal customer projects. Now Ingo Rathmann and his team offer engineering and consulting services also separately external customers on. Jan Hanenkamp and Sebastian Münnekhoff, on the other hand, represent the generational change in the production area and are building up the Business in packaging automation further out.
Project Automation & Consulting: plenty of potential in design and consulting
Ingo Rathmann, previously Head of Construction at the Project Group and Managing Director of Project Automation & Consulting GmbH from October 2021, sees a great deal of Business potential in engineering and consulting. „There may be a few engineering firms on the market, but we can offer customers great added value. As we are very familiar with production issues due to our proximity to our sister company, this valuable implementation expertise is already incorporated into our engineering work.“ Ingo Rathmann has been with the company since 2012. He and his team have already provided a wide range of engineering services for automation projects for well-known companies. „I think it's good that our owners are still on board, albeit in a different role. We want to continue to benefit from their enormous knowledge and decades of experience,“ says Rathmann.
Project Service & Production: A wealth of expertise in vertical integration
Jan Hanenkamp and Sebastian Münnekhoff from Project Service & Production are also looking forward to their new role: „As long-standing managers, we were able to work closely with the shareholders. We are looking forward to our role as managing directors and to working together in a new constellation. Particularly challenging projects such as automation in confined spaces have always been our business. Whether Conveyor technology, carrying handle application, palletising, labelling or everything together - every project is different and mechanical engineering is simply extremely exciting.“
Both have been with the Project Group for a long time: Jan Hanenkamp started in 2008 and took over as service manager in 2010. Sebastian Münnekhoff has been with the company since 2010 and is responsible for materials management in the areas of purchasing, logistics, manufacturing and production.
