Schumacher takes over Kaierde

The Schumacher Packaging Group acquires a majority stake in the Kaierde board mill in Delligsen, Lower Saxony. The family-owned company is thus increasing its total capacity in the solid board sector by 50 percent from 50,000 to a total of 75,000 tonnes per year.

The family-owned company is thus increasing its total capacity in the solid board sector by 50 percent from 50,000 to a total of 75,000 tonnes per year. The investment is part of an investment programme amounting to 700 million euros by 2025.

In times of increasing demand and production bottlenecks due to scarce resources, this takeover enables us to offer our customers the best possible service. solid future prospects and guarantee them security of supply in the future as well„, says Hendrik Schumacher, Managing Director of the Schumacher Packaging Group.

The Lower Saxony-based company Kaierde has been established on the market for more than 30 years and produces around 25,000 tonnes of grey and brown cardboard every year. Even after Schumacher Packaging's investment, the Gravenkamp family remains involved. Stephan Gravenkamp will continue to steer the fortunes of the site in Lower Saxony as Managing Director. Together with Schumacher Packaging, the site, which currently has around 60 employees, is to be further developed. There are already plans to expand capacity.
