Rondo receives double award

Rondo Ganahl AG was honoured with two WorldStar Packaging Awards this year: The patented dispatch box with return function was honoured in the e-commerce category, while the firewood dispenser with carrying handle won in the household category.

Rondo Ganahl AG was honoured with two WorldStar Packaging Awards this year: The patented dispatch box with return function was honoured in the e-commerce category, while the firewood dispenser with carrying handle won in the household category.

Both of the company's Austrian sites each received one of the awards. In contrast to conventional shipping boxes with a return function, the packaging solution from Rondo St. Ruprecht (Styria) does not require any additional packaging. neither a plastic tear strip nor a removable adhesive tape. This applies both to dispatch by the retailer and to any returns by the consumer.

The ecological mono-packaging therefore consists of 100 per cent corrugated cardboard, is reusable and fully recyclable. If the contents do not meet the recipient's expectations, the original inner cover becomes the outer coverand the packaging can be securely resealed and prepared for return shipment without the need for gluing.

Young designer wins second award for Rondo

Rondo is particularly pleased to have been awarded the prize in the household category. The firewood dispenser was designed by the former apprentice and now Young designer in the development department in Frastanz, Alexander Erath, in collaboration with the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce. This concept is not only characterised by sustainable packaging, the contents are also a regional natural product: the kindling comes from shingle production in the Bregenzerwald.

In addition, the corrugated cardboard carrying handle of the firewood dispenser ensures easy handling and the wood can be removed without soiling the surrounding area thanks to the innovative flap. Thanks to the printed lighting instructions not only makes the design sustainable, but also reduces particulate pollution if implemented correctly.
