Anyone who uses laser printers is familiar with this: toner residue that sticks to the drum with every print job, must be collected in the waste toner box and disposed of as hazardous waste. To ensure the necessary safety, only plastic containers have been available for this purpose to date.

Cardboard specialist Dörr has developed an innovative, environmentally friendly solution for this: The first waste toner box made from cardboard. A 300 gram chromosulphate cardboard ensures stability, break and tear resistance, which, thanks to a very high proportion of virgin fibres, has the necessary rigidity of a plastic waste toner box.

The recyclable waste toner box holds the waste toner directly in the laser printer and can be set up in a few simple steps before filling. When the waste toner box is full, it is sealed dust-tight and is thus ready for despatch for recycling. The printed operating instructions show how this works.

The handling of the environmentally friendly cardboard box is also simplified thanks to the integrated erecting aid: The boxes, which are delivered flat to save space, can be easily erected and used with a flick of the wrist. After being returned, the cardboard boxes are properly recycled by the manufacturer and fed into a virtually closed recycling and life cycle.

Space-saving and recyclable, the new waste toner box is a real alternative to the previous costly disposal of waste toner. Dörr Kartonagen specialises in environmentally friendly packaging and displays made of cardboard and offers resource- and energy-saving products and production processes with environmentally friendly processing and usage stages.
