
Coveris has launched a No Waste Week for the second time. The company's no-waste vision, which focuses on avoiding product, packaging and operational waste, was previously recognised. Activities to reduce energy consumption were organised at the company's sites.
In October, the 29 locations of the Coveris-Group organised its second No Waste Week in the EMEA region. The event centred around the company's recently awarded NO WASTE vision, which focuses on the prevention of product, packaging and operational waste. To achieve this, the company has developed a developed a detailed understanding of its waste hierarchy and is constantly looking for ways to further reduce waste in all areas.
For No Waste Week 2022, 80 activities focussing on reducing energy consumption took place at all Coveris sites, e.g. the Reuse the heat generated during production to heat the sites and reviewing utilities to find new ways to save water and electricity. Some sites are also involved in local community activities, such as redesigning school gardens, sorting and collecting rubbish and cleaning sites.

The success of Coveris„ waste prevention strategy is supported by the involvement of local green teams organised by each site to implement their own creative ideas, as well as the ideas collected through the monthly “No Waste Champion" competition. As a result Launched over 100 initiatives across the Group to reduce waste of all kinds. The activities range from improving the recyclability of packaging solutions to improving waste management at all sites and optimising the use of raw materials in order to reduce CO2-footprint of Coveris.
At Group level, the company has committed to investing in green energy and is focussing on increasing the use of renewable energy at all sites.
