There was a change at management level at packaging specialist Coveris at the start of the year. Jakob A. Mosser, who has headed the company since 2018, is passing the baton to the previous COO Christian Kolarik. Mosser will remain associated with the company as Executive Chairman.
Coveris completed its strategic realignment in 2022, one year earlier than planned. Following the sale of the Rigid and Americas divisions in 2018, Jakob A. Mosser has turned the company into a European market leader in the flexible paper and plastics industry. Under his leadership, Coveris has developed into a company with a forward-looking strategy and a stringent sustainability vision.
With a view to the future and the requirements that the next strategic phase demands, the Coveris owners have decided to, Jakob A. Mosser to be appointed Executive Chairman and Christian Kolarik appointed as new CEO.
New CEO very familiar with the industry
„I have known Christian Kolarik for many years and have worked with him for a long time; he is a real industry expert. Since joining Coveris in 2018, he has made a significant contribution to the company's successful transformation. He is the ideal person to lead Coveris, continue our international expansion and, above all, drive forward our sustainability strategy,“ says Mosser. „I look forward to working closely with him and the team in my new role as well."
Christian Kolarik began his career in the packaging industry more than 20 years ago. The graduate mechanical engineer took on his first management role as Managing Director of the Mondi plant in Korneuburg, Austria. Kolarik then served as CEO of Mondi Consumer Flexibles and subsequently as COO (Chief Operating Officer) of the Schur Flexibles Group. During this time, he has already worked with many of today's Coveris managers. Since 2018, he has been President of the Flexibles business unit (flexible packaging materials) and since 2022 also as COO at Coveris. He played a key role in the development and implementation of the reorganisation of Coveris.
