
With this certification, the Austrian printing company Odysseus now has all the necessary certificates for the production of folding cartons for direct contact with food.
The Odysseus print shop in Himberg near Vienna underwent a strategic reorganisation in 2019, which included the Transformation from a pure commercial printer to a packaging printer initiated. Currently, on a production area of 8000 m2 high-quality folding cartons for food, including confectionery, as well as packaging for the near-food and non-food sectors. The process has now been fully completed, as evidenced by the certification for a »Quality Management System« in accordance with ISO 9001 and for a »Food Safety Management System« in accordance with ISO 22000.
With ISO 9001, the entire internal process and production chain was reviewed and certified. In the course of this, for example All consumables are designed for food-compliant production. For example, Himberg uses mineral oil-free and low-migration printing inks, varnishes and adhesives. And with ISO 22000, all the hygiene regulations required by the food industry have been implemented.

The ongoing certification brings the necessary security for both sides especially in the production of food packaging that comes into direct contact with the contents.
Managing Director Vrachoritis is the 3rd generation to run the company. The print shop is positioned in high-quality offset printing and mainly produces cardboard packaging.
