Clickable refill system for cosmetics

A cooperation between Gerresheimer and Medicos has resulted in a sustainable and simple refill system for cosmetics.

A cooperation between Gerresheimer and the Medicos Beauty Group has resulted in a sustainable and simple refill system for cosmetics. The insert, cap and glass jar click together and the materials are partially recycled and all recyclable. 

The new clickable refill system consists of Re-CliCK, the plastic insert and closure solution from Medicos, and Gx-CyClic, the matching reusable glass jar from Medicos. Gerresheimer. The refillable Packaging solution is simple and intuitive to use. At the same time, particular attention was paid to the use of sustainable materials. Both Re-CliCK and Gx-CyClic are available as part of the standard range from Gerresheimer and Medicos. All elements of the system can be customised in terms of finish and colour.

„Sustainability is at the heart of the design: in addition to the reusability aspect, the refill system is also made from sustainable and recycled materials to conserve resources,“ explains Nicola Balena, Global Vice President Cosmetics at Gerresheimer Moulded Glass. The Glass jar consists of 40 per cent post-consumer recycled glass (PCR), the insert is made of bio-based PP and the closure is made of R-PET, PET or PP. All materials are recyclable after use. The glass jar is also very light.

The clickable solution enables the consumer to handle the refill pack easily and intuitively. Thanks to the click system of the insert, the consumer can use the refill pack effortless insertion and removal while remaining securely sealed in the glass container. Thanks to the ingenious click-on solution, the insert always stays in place when the lid is screwed on and off.

Both Re-CliCK and Gx-CyClic with 50 ml content are available in the standard range from Gerresheimer and Medicos. However, all parts of the refill pack can be customised according to the customer's wishes. All Components can be embellished with various finishing techniques. Printing, spraying, even matting: there are no limits to creativity when it comes to designing a customised masterpiece that underlines the customer's brand identity.
