A+F Automation + Fördertechnik GmbH will be presenting its range of products and services for the food and beverage industry at interpack in Düsseldorf. A TwinLine cup packer and the 216-S tray erector will be on display at the stand.

The company, which is part of the EOL Packaging Experts Group, will integrate both exhibits into a new installation at the Sterzing dairy farm in Italy after the trade fair. This is a complete filling line with which the dairy cooperative will be able to fill, pack and palletise up to 10,000 150-gram glass cups per hour with yoghurt. A+F is also supplying the palletising technology and all the necessary conveyors for this expansion investment.

The innovative TwinLine cup packer is based on a reliable basic design that is characterised by A+F is customised in each case. In principle TwinLine stands for a packing cell in which two conveyor lines are arranged. One lane feeds a crate, carton or tray. The product enters the second lane.

Both strands can be parallel, but also in opposite directions and single or multiple lanes be executed. Another option is to use a bar chain. The run-in cups are then picked up according to the packing pattern and inserted into the carton. The TwinLine packer has servo-driven axes for this purpose.

The 216-S erector produces the required cardboard packaging fully automatically. The flat blanks are erected, folded and glued with hot glue in a continuous process. The blanks are removed by means of a servomotor-driven vacuum suction system.

All other central functional units such as the cutting transport, the folding station or the push-through device for the support bars are also fully servo-controlled. For this reason, the type 216-S tray erector, like the TwinLine, is extremely precise and very flexible with regard to the formats to be processed.
