
The converting industry met for three days at ICE Europe 2023 in Munich. With a 30 per cent increase in visitors compared to the previous year, the trade fair is now drawing a positive balance of the event.
From 14 to 16 March, a total of 4,850 trade visitors from 64 countries travelled to Munich to find out about the latest machines, systems, materials and matching accessories. 338 exhibitors from 20 countries showcased their products and services for processing and finishing flexible web materials such as paper, film, foil and nonwovens on around 8,700 square metres. Following the successful conclusion of the trade fair, the organiser announced the date for the next ICE Europe announced: It will take place from 12 to 14 March 2024.

The vast majority of visitors came from Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Poland, Spain, the Czech Republic, France and Turkey. Among the The most important exhibiting countries were Germany, Italy, Turkey, China, Great Britain, Spain, the United States, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands. In addition to the strong line-up of leading brand suppliers on the exhibition stands, the prestigious ICE Awards were presented on the first day of the trade fair, recognising three exhibitors for their outstanding achievements and special technological advances.

The ICE Awards 2023 were presented on the first day of the trade fair by Nicola Hamann, Managing Director of RX, and Martin Hirschmann, Editor-in-Chief of C2 Magazines. More than 30 entries were submitted for the competition, from start-ups as well as major technology leaders from a wide range of converting sectors. More than 2,500 converting specialists voted for the candidates in the respective categories.
In the „Digital Converting Solutions“ category, the company DIENES Werke für Maschinenteile GmbH & Co. KG. won an ICE Award for its TEOC (short for „The End of Coincidences“), the Various digital processes combined in one concept. In the „Sustainable products and manufacturing processes“ category, INOMETA GmbH won an award for its heating roller, which was specially developed for the Needs and requirements for film lamination and laminating and other substrates. The company tesa SE received the award in the „Efficient Production Solutions“ category for its Heavy-duty fabric tape for wrapping rollers and deflection rollersThe silicone tape tesa Printer's Friend 4863 with nubbed surface.
