A new adhesive packaging tape from tesa is designed to help customers improve the sustainability of their products. It is recycling-friendly and can therefore be disposed of together with the cardboard packaging.

Anyone who sticks with tesa has to memorise long numbers. „60408“ is the name of the latest result from product development. Behind this number is a new, more sustainable adhesive packaging tape for industrial shipping. .

According to tesa it combines several more sustainable properties, including a strong and robust paper backing and a natural rubber adhesive made from 100 per cent bio-based resin.

Packaging tape with 92% biocarbon

With a total biobased carbon content of 92 per cent, the adhesive tape was awarded the highest rating for biocarbon content (> 85 %) by DIN CERTCO.

Display

For many industries, such as the food and beverage industry, the pharmaceutical industry or the logistics, warehousing and supply chain sectors, it is therefore a more sustainable alternative to conventional adhesive packaging tapes.

The packaging tape is said to be ideal for light and medium-weight packaging up to 20 kg and can also be printed with various colour systems. Furthermore, its manufacture is based on a solvent-free production process.

Recycling in waste paper

According to the manufacturer, the adhesive tape has a high tensile strength, is tear-resistant and securely seals cardboard packaging and products. The packaging tape is suitable for both manual and automatic dispensers and is largely noiseless in use.

It is also recycling-friendly and certified according to INGEDE Method 12. This means that tesa 60408 can be easily disposed of together with the packaging in everyday paper and card recycling without affecting the recycling process.
