Printing with extended gamut process colours allows for a wider colour gamut and typically includes CMYK plus orange, green and violet. By adding these three additional primary colours to the process, manufacturers can achieve a much better match with the colours of traditional spot colours and no longer have to wash down the press between jobs. The minimisation or No solvents are used in the production of printing plates is an important step for many flexographic printers to reduce their environmental footprint and create a more sustainable flexographic printing process and a cleaner and more pleasant working environment.
„We are delighted to support Labelexpo Europe 2023, the industry's most important European trade show. Not only will we showcase our Carbon Neutral AWP CleanPrint plates, but we will also focus on the value that ECG printing brings to flexo operations. This includes higher quality and improved productivity as press washing between jobs is reduced or eliminated with this process and it is easier to achieve almost all Pantone colours, significantly expanding the colour gamut that can be produced in flexo. Experts from Asahi will be on hand to answer visitors“ questions and recommend solutions to existing challenges."

The AWP-DEW panels have already been certified as carbon neutral in collaboration with the Carbon Trust, and the AWP-CleanFlat panels are currently in the final stages of the carbon neutral certification programme. Both panels have been developed with sustainability in mind. Due to their precise registration, these plates are ideal for ECG printing. They reduce waste and environmental impact by minimising the use of paint and solvents and reduce set-up time and waste. And because they can be washed off with water, no aggressive chemicals are required for printing plate production.
