Euchner is currently presenting its smallest safety switch to date, the CES-C07, at the Hannover Messe. Together with the ESM-CB safety module, which is also being presented, the new components ensure communication at „Industry 4.0“ level, according to the switchgear specialist from Leinfelden.
At the Safety switch CES-07, which can be connected in series with other devices of its type or with mechanical safety switches, the innovations are inside the device, writes Euchner. It is the comprehensive diagnostic options that are made possible. All process-relevant parameters are supplied in real time. This guarantees the predictive maintenance of systems. The sensors measure relevant environmental parameters and signal in good time whether there is a risk of machine failure. This system even recognises attempts at manipulation.
Each switch in the sensor chain supplies its information via the Safety module ESM-CB per IO-Link-standard to the process controller. It is connected via standard M12 connectors. Three different approach directions are possible. The switch is integrated into the Safety category „4 / PLe“ classified. Functions such as weak area display of the transponder field and clearly visible indicator LEDs are also available.
As an evaluation unit, Safety relay and IO-Link device The 17 millimetre slim ESM-CB safety module acts as a safety circuit. Two safety circuits can be connected. The first safety circuit can consist of an emergency stop chain or switching contacts from mechanical safety contacts. The second circuit is designed for a switch chain consisting of the CES-C07 safety switches. Two redundant, safe relay contacts enable the direct switching of loads with up to 6 amperes.
