Canon and Heidelberg have entered into a global sales and service partnership in inkjet printing. The partnership is intended to support commercial printing companies that want to achieve shorter production times with a wide range of jobs and are aiming for hybrid offset/digital production.
Heidelberg is expanding its technology portfolio with the introduction of a own inkjet product family, which will be presented on the newly announced Canon B2 sheetfed inkjet press and the established B3 sheetfed inkjet press. Both machines will be integrated into the Heidelberg Prinect workflow; service and Saphira Ink will be supplied by Heidelberg.

More than 650 Canon B3 sheetfed presses are already in use by customers worldwide. This system offers a high flexibility and agility to cover a wide range of short runs. efficiently and profitably. Based on this market success, the new Canon B2 sheetfed press will offer a high level of digital productivity, quality and media diversity for industrial customers as soon as it is available on the market.

The new inkjet portfolio from Heidelberg is shown on the drupa 2024 (Düsseldorf, 28 May - 7 June) at the Heidelberg stand in Hall 1. Visitors to the Canon stand in Hall 8a will be able to see a technology animation of the new B2 sheetfed press, which is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2025.
