International presence and high-calibre visitors

In 2023, over 30,000 experts attended swop, including representatives from well-known brands such as Mars, Heinz, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, Starbucks and Nestlé. A similarly high-calibre attendance is also expected for 2024. National and international exhibitors from countries such as China, Germany, Japan and the UK are expected to take part in an exhibition area of around 65,000 square metres. swop covers all areas of the packaging industry, from machinery and materials to logistics and recycling.

88 per cent of visitors to swop 2023 were decision-makers or multipliers. The organisers, Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., are also counting on the participation of high-ranking industry experts for this year's event. Targeted networking opportunities and business deals should make the trade fair a success for all participants.

New forum for food processing and intelligent manufacturing

A new feature this year is the partnership with the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST), which marks the debut of the Food Processing and Intelligent Manufacturing Zone. This forum will focus on innovative processing technologies and packaging solutions for food manufacturers. Around 300 industry experts are expected to discuss topics such as artificial intelligence, food big data, food image analysis, machine learning, intelligent manufacturing, nutrition and safety, and quality control.

In addition, the SAVE FOOD Forum will once again take place at swop, where the SAVE FOOD Design Award and the Sustainability Design Award will be presented. These awards emphasise the importance of sustainable packaging solutions and offer participating exhibitors additional visibility.

Focus on innovative and sustainable solutions

swop offers an extensive supporting programme with networking events, presentations and special shows. The „Smart Packaging Zone“ under the motto „Intelligence, Digitalisation, Personalisation“ will showcase innovative packaging technologies and smart factories. In the „Green Power Zone“, the focus is on sustainable and recyclable materials. Here, participants can find out about current packaging trends and take part in discussions.

Exhibitor registration and visa exemption

Interested exhibitors still have the opportunity to register for the swop. Participation as part of the German or International Pavilion, which includes an all-inclusive package, is particularly advantageous. Participation is made easier by the recently cancelled visa requirement. Passport holders from 15 countries, including Germany, France, Italy and Spain, can now enter China visa-free for up to 15 days, making business visits much easier.
