At glasstec 2024, the two-day CircuClarity One conference on 22 and 23 October will bring together international experts to discuss new approaches to promoting the circular economy in the glass industry. The focus will be on scalable solutions and practical innovations.

CircuClarity One sees itself as a platform for the Knowledge exchange between industry and science. The event, initiated by Dr Lisa Rammig and Prof. Dr Linda Hildebrand, brings together international experts from the glass industry and researchers to shed light on the future of the circular economy in glass and façade construction.

The conference will focus on practical innovations aimed at optimising the Promoting the circular economy. Among other things, successful approaches will be presented that are already being used in the industry and that both optimise the use of materials and minimise the environmental impact.

„Our aim is to provide a platform for knowledge exchange that leads to real progress and innovation in the industry.“

Linking science and industry

CircuClarity One offers a special platform where collaboration between science and industry takes centre stage. The aim is to Proven processes and new technologies presented The aim is to develop new technologies that make resource utilisation in the glass industry more efficient and at the same time reduce the environmental impact. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Linda Hildebrand, Professor of Reuse in Architecture at RWTH Aachen University, emphasises:

„Circularity is one of the main drivers of innovation in the industry.“

The programme of the two-day conference includes around 20 presentations and discussion panels on topics such as „Design for Disassembly“, Material reuse and resource conservation are the main focus. A particular focus is on the practical implementation of these ideas in industry.

Circularity as a response to the climate crisis

The idea for the CircuClarity initiative was born at glasstec in 2022. Since then, it has developed into a pioneering movement that, by its own account, is fuelled by a strong interest in circular solutions in the glass industry is supported. „The feedback was spectacular and the initiative grew quickly,“ reports Dr Rammig. With the premiere of CircuClarity One at glasstec 2024, the initiative is now returning to the international stage.

A highlight of the event is the First presentation of the CircuClarity Award, which honours particularly innovative contributions to promoting the circular economy in the glass and façade industry. The closing date for applications for the award is 20 September 2024.
