ProSweets Cologne launched with a new concept

ProSweets Cologne, the supplier trade fair for the confectionery and snack industry, has opened its doors and will be showcasing innovations from the confectionery and snack industry until 5 February. As part of Sweet Week, ProSweets will once again take place at the same time as the International Confectionery Fair in the Cologne exhibition halls. For the first time this year, however, the trade fair will present A new hall concept with four theme worldsThe World of Packaging, World of Packaging Technology, World of Sweet & Snackable Ingredients and World of Production Technology cover the entire value chain and are designed to provide better orientation for visitors.

With the new concept, ProSweets exhibitors will no longer be among themselves in Hall 10.1, as in previous years. In the Networking Area, for example, visitors and exhibitors from both trade fairs will meet to exchange ideas. And also the ISM New Product Showcase has moved there. The latest confectionery and snack products developed by exhibiting companies after the last ISM will be shown here.

Lab5 by ISM, which aims to further expand the synergies between the two trade fairs, has also been placed in its own area in Hall 10.1.

"The Symbiosis of ProSweets and ISM is unique,“ says Tina Gerfer, Managing Director of the mechanical engineering company Wilhelm Rasch GmbH. „Having the manufacturers directly on site is of incredible added value for us. This is unique in the world and doesn't exist anywhere else.“

Display

Exhibitors such as Theegarten Pactec, Gerhard Schubert, Fuji Packaging, Packiro, Acma, Ergopack, Jowat, Rowema and Syntegon will once again be showcasing their solutions at the trade fair. A major topic: paper processing. Exhibitor Hastamat will be using its RM-270 vertical form, fill and seal machine, for example, to demonstrate how Doystyle bags made from paper-based, recyclable material are produced.

Partner company Loesch Verpackungstechnik uses its LTM-Duo to demonstrate the fold wrapping of chocolate bars - with a paper-based inner cover. „The machine works at an output of up to 215 sheets per minute. We also pack the sheets into display cartons here at the trade fair - all on one compact machine,“ says Christoph Krombholz, Marketing Manager at Loesch.

Moulded fibre bottles for food supplements from Papacks.

The Cologne-based company Papacks, a manufacturer of moulded fibre packaging, presents its sustainable Coffee capsules with plant-based coating, which are due to be launched on the market soon, as CMO Manuel Leibrock explained. Already available on the market are the small Moulded fibre bottles for food supplements, Papacks has developed a new machine specifically for this purpose. The company currently mainly uses virgin fibres for fibre casting production, but plans to use more hemp as a raw material in the future.

ProSweets Cologne is open parallel to ISM until Wednesday.
