Machine manufacturer Bobst presents its latest development of the EXPERTFOLD 50 | 80 | 110 folder gluer. The machine offers customers additional options, including its modular design, which also enables complete fold gluing lines.

The new generation of the modular and versatile EXPERTFOLD offers a wide range of new functions. These can be used to produce a large number of different folding carton variants at speeds of up to 450 m/min. From ACCUBRAILLE, ACCUCHECK and SPEEDWAVE to GYROBOX - this machine can be customised to meet the most complex requirements. At the same time, it offers the option of adding suitable peripheral devices. This allows folding carton manufacturers to flexibly realise complete folder gluing lines that are characterised by high performance.

Bobst strives to continuously improve its machines. With this in mind, the company recently launched the A3 version of the EXPERTFOLD. It Reduces set-up times by up to 80 per cent, when the machine is to be converted from the production of lockbottom cartons to the manufacture of 4- and 6-point cartons. The objectives of the development of the new version of this multi-talent were to further increase its productivity and to take the next step towards Bobst's industrial vision. This aims to create a Fully digitalised and networked packaging production with the highest degree of automation and maximum sustainability to become a reality.

With new designs and adaptations, the Ergonomics of the EXPERTFOLD improved and its space requirement reduced. New safety doors allow easy access to the module for the production of 4- and 6-point cartons, while its slimmer design maximises safety for machine operators and frees up space at the rear of the machine. The handles on the upper transports have been redesigned, allowing for more precise and stable positioning. In addition, the machine is now equipped with pneumatic feed belts, which further reduce the workload for machine operators and reduce set-up times by up to 20 per cent. These and many other changes make this EXPERTFOLD the most technically advanced and sophisticated version to date.

„The further development of the EXPERTFOLD is an example of how we endeavour to supply packaging manufacturers with the most powerful machines with the best ergonomics. With the latest improvements, we have reduced set-up times and further increased productivity and carton quality. After all, packaging manufacturers must be able to act flexibly and deliver flawless products. User-friendliness and practicality are equally important in order to generate a sustainable working environment.“

The integration of the SPHERE human-machine interface followed the same logic. Like the previous user interface, it allows the Saving repeat jobs as well as controlling and monitoring machine functions. Customers can also use it to access Bobst Connect Essential. This digital solution gives packaging manufacturers Access to accurate performance data, production progress indicators and reports. All this enables them to improve their productivity. In addition, Bobst Connect Essential will provide them with preferred remote technical support. In the future, SPHERE will also be able to provide a wide range of other functions that will be part of the Bobst Connect platform. They will provide a efficient data flow between the machines and digital solutions This enables fast, transparent communication across the entire supply chain, which in turn optimises the production process.

„Our EXPERTFOLD is known in the market for being one of the most reliable and powerful folder-gluers. Naturally, we continue to develop our product line in line with developments in the market and are constantly adding new functions. The new version clearly demonstrates this. Every single customisation is implemented in such a way that it offers our customers real benefits - be it shorter set-up times and therefore faster production changeovers or an accelerated transition to Industry 4.0. That's exactly what innovation is: constantly thinking about how to improve even the best products even further.“
