The new circular pallet from Tosca, developed in collaboration with Cabka, offers a solution to this challenge. This solution addresses the needs of automated supply chains and provides a PPWR-compliant alternative to conventional single-use packaging.
The Tosca CP 1208 is specifically designed to integrate seamlessly into existing processes. With its Euro standard dimensions of 1200 x 800 mm, it fits perfectly with existing pallet handling equipment, making costly conversions unnecessary. Rounded runner edges minimise damage when using forklifts, further increasing its efficiency and longevity.
Alex Masharov, CEO of Cabka, emphasises the advantages of this circular logistics: „By transforming recycled plastic into high-performance transport solutions, we enable more efficient and sustainable supply chains.“ The integrated groove ribs on the pallet securely fix Tosca's reusable plastic crates, facilitating double-stack transport and simplifying cargo handling.
Sustainability and hygiene
The Tosca CP 1208 is made from a special blend of recycled plastics and is splinter-free and non-porous, making it an ideal choice for environments with high hygiene requirements. Drainage holes prevent water accumulation and reduce moisture retention, reducing the risk of contamination.
Furthermore, the use of recycled materials supports more stable operating costs by reducing reliance on volatile raw material markets. This makes the range not only a sustainable but also an economically advantageous solution.
Improved work safety
The ergonomic design of the pallet, including seamlessly integrated handles and non-slip features, enhances workplace safety throughout the supply chain. The pallet is lighter than traditional wooden pallets, making it easier to handle and reducing the risk of injury from manual activities. Laurent Le Mercier, EMEA President at Tosca, emphasises: „With improved stability and easier handling, the Tosca CP 1208 reduces physical strain and creates safer working conditions.“
Future-proof logistics solutions
With the introduction of the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), supply chains increasingly require reusable and recyclable solutions. The Tosca CP 1208 is designed to meet these demands. It is made from 100% recycled plastic and can be recycled at the end of its lifecycle, making it a future-proof alternative to wooden pallets.
