Nespresso announces the launch of the first coffee capsules made from 80 percent recycled aluminium. The launch is an important milestone on the company's journey to increase the recycling of product materials.
The first coffee capsules that 80 percent recycled aluminium, capsules of the Variety Master Origin Colombia from the Original Line. The first new products are already available in Germany and other selected countries. In the next step, Nespresso plans to produce the entire range of all Original Line and Vertuo coffee capsules from secondary aluminium by the end of 2021.

Responsible use of resources
Already heard Aluminium to the mostly recycled materials the world. It can be processed into new products again and again. Recycled aluminium requires 95 per cent less energy during production as primary aluminium. Recycling has priority
Nespresso launched its first recycling system back in 1991. Since 2014, the company has recycled over CHF 185 million into his Recycling programmes which today comprise a global network of over 100,000 capsule collection points in 53 countries.
The company's aim is to make it as easy as possible for customers to recycle Nespresso capsules. Until the end of 2020 the recycling capacity for Nespresso capsules worldwide is to be increased from the current 92 per cent. to 100 per cent be expanded. In Germany, Nespresso has been voluntarily taking part in the market since 1993 by licensing at the Green Dot on dual system part. This allows consumers to recycle Nespresso capsules via the yellow bag, the yellow bin, the recycling bin or at recycling centres. The Nespresso capsules and coffee grounds can be disposed of, sorted and then recycled using the familiar and proven methods.
Nespresso wants to promote recycling as a collective endeavour by all those involved.
