For its 60th company anniversary, Gerhard Schubert GmbH is presenting a fundamentally revised product strategy at the interpack 2026. Marcel Kiessling from the management board introduced the new three-pillar concept, which represents the Crailsheim-based packaging machine manufacturer's response to changing market requirements.
Three product ranges for every need
The new strategy is divided into three areas: TLM (Top Loading Machines) for integrated special lines, Lightline for standard machines, and TOG (Together) for mobile manufacturing cells. „With the three product lines, we want to have the right solution for every application,“ explained Kiessling.
While TLM covers the well-known Schubert range of custom solutions, Lightline is aimed at simpler tasks with shorter delivery times and more attractive price points. TOG, on the other hand, revolutionises the concept with mobile production cells for maximum flexibility.
Response to smaller batches and format changes
„We are reacting to the demands of our customers,“ emphasised Kiessling. The challenges are diverse: smaller batch sizes, frequent product launches, constant format changes and the need to operate machines economically for over 20 years. „The consumer goods market does not remain stable for 20 years, so I must be able to adapt the machine.“
Despite the new strategy, modularity remains the core element. „We use standard units such as pick-and-place robots and conveyor technology across the board,“ says Kiessling. However, TOG pursued a consistent „Minimum Viable Product“ approach: „Leaving out everything that offers no benefit to the customer.“
Modularity remains DNA – with positive resonance
The feedback from trade fair visitors confirms the concept. „They understand it,“ Kiessling rejoices about the response at the bright, open stand in Hall 14. The new product strategy thus marks an important milestone for Schubert, which is further expanding its position as a solutions provider with a well-thought-out systematic approach.
The interpack 2026 will therefore be the starting point for a strategy that intelligently links Schubert's proven modularity with the flexibility requirements of the modern packaging industry – thus ushering in the next stage of development for a concept that has shaped the machine manufacturer for 60 years.
