Denis Völler, Managing Director of Der Grüne Punkt, and Felix Badura from Digicycle explain the digital transformation of packaging labelling. Under the PPWR, recycling targets of 80% are set to be achieved by 2030 – a goal that cannot be met without digitalisation. The DigiDot uses QR codes to solve the problem of a lack of consumer information on complex packaging. Specially coated materials, which look like paper but must be disposed of differently, create uncertainty. The Europe-wide solution takes local collection systems into account – blue bins in Germany, red ones in Austria. Völler emphasises: Design for Recycling must become the standard so that high-quality recyclates can be produced. #interpack #packaging #recycling #digitalisation #PPWR #circular economy #sustainability #labelling
