Following the majority takeover by Van Genechten Packaging, Schoepe Display has been given a new name and an expanded service profile. In future, VGP Schoepe Berlin will act as an innovation centre for promotional packaging and POS displays throughout Europe.

With effect from 8 April 2025, the Berlin-based display specialist previously known as Schoepe Display will operate under the new name VGP Schoepe Berlin GmbH. The background to this is the takeover of 70 per cent of the company shares by the Van Genechten Packaging Group (VGP) in October 2024. According to the company, the renaming marks the starting point for a comprehensive transformation: from an independent display manufacturer to an integrated part of a pan-European packaging group.

The aim of the reorganisation is to take a holistic approach to display and promotional packaging. VGP Schoepe Berlin will not only continue to act as a producer of high-quality POS displays, but will also offer design, co-packing and logistics from a single source in future. The focus is on the development of holistic solutions in the sense of a „design-to-fulfilment“ approach.

Opening of a Design & Innovation Centre

A central element of this strategy is the planned opening of a Design & Innovation Centre in Berlin. In future, new concepts for packaging and sales promotion will be developed here together with brand owners. The combination of VGP's expertise in the folding carton sector with Schoepe's know-how in the field of POS displays should create new synergies.

Andreas Grathwohl, Managing Director of VG Schoepe Berlin GmbH, sees great potential in the integration: „We have retained the spirit of Schoepe - fast, flexible, inventive - and integrated it into a Europe-wide network. It's a game changer for our customers, our employees and the industry.“

The parent company Van Genechten Packaging, based in Belgium, is one of Europe's leading independent packaging providers. The company operates a total of 15 processing sites and two fulfilment centres in nine countries and generates an annual turnover of over 500 million euros. VGP is primarily present in the consumer goods industry and is known for printed folding cartons and offset-laminated corrugated board.

By integrating VGP Schoepe Berlin, Van Genechten is expanding its capacities in the display segment. The Berlin-based unit will continue to specialise in the development, production and logistics of high-quality short-term displays made of cardboard and corrugated board. The new structure should make it possible to serve customers across Europe even more comprehensively and efficiently, according to the statement.
