With an investment of 8 million euros, the STI Group has installed a new laminating machine at its Lauterbach site. The technology enables resource-saving packaging solutions and emphasises the company's commitment to sustainable innovations in the packaging sector.

The STI Group commissioned a new high-performance laminating machine at its Lauterbach site in Hesse at the beginning of 2025. The investment totalling 8 million euros marks an important step in the packaging specialist's strategic development - with a focus on resource-efficient, CO₂-saving and high-performance solutions for corrugated board packaging.

The new laminating machine was installed in 2024 and fulfils the highest requirements in terms of energy efficiency and product quality, according to the STI Group. An innovative glue application system makes it possible to process very lightweight paper while keeping the corrugated board flat. This makes it possible to produce packaging solutions with fine corrugated structures and reduced grammage - a more sustainable alternative to conventional materials.

G, F, E and B flutes are produced using lightweight cardboard and paper qualities. This supports the Industry trend towards more material-efficient packaging solutions, as required by the European Green Deal and the EU packaging regulation PPWR.
