Österreichische Post AG has been offering reusable packaging for online retail since 2023. It is now expanding its range and introducing two new types of packaging to this product line: the Post Loop bottle pack and the Post Loop fresh pack.
In addition, the reusable Post Loop packaging is now also available for private use in selected post offices throughout Austria. The packaging of the previous wine parcel is being replaced by the new Post Loop bottle pack. This is a reusable cardboard box specially developed for shipping bottles for a wide variety of liquids. From now on, it is also possible to dispatch carbonated drinks, spirits, oils, vinegar, etc. for the first time. Only fermented beverages are still excluded.
The Post Loop bottle pack is available in various sizes for shipping 1, 2, 3, 6, 12 or now also 18 bottles. The Robust, double-layer recycled cardboard not only protects the contents particularly well, but can also be used for Up to three rotations in total can be used. This makes it ideal for returning empty bottles to the winery or beverage retailer in a cost- and resource-saving manner.
For meat, vegetables and more: the Post Loop fresh parcel
For Next Day Fresh food delivery, there is now the Post Loop fresh pack, which consists of two new products: The Insulated box for chilled dispatch of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish or dairy products has been redesigned and is now not only more practical and compact, but also designed in the Gastronorm (specifically for GN 1/2 containers). In addition, a new outer carton protects the insulated box from wear and tear and enables significantly more cycles without wear.
Recipients also benefit from simplified handling: once the food has been removed from the insulated box, the outer carton can be Easy to close and return using the integrated adhesive strip. An accompanying letter including a returns label can be sent in the non-refrigerated area between the insulated box and the outer carton.
The insulated boxes have the proven thermal insulation, but no longer need to be sealed due to the cardboard cover. The insulated boxes can be can be washed and disinfected in catering dishwashers, before they are dispatched again. Existing ice packs also fit into the new insulated box, and you can also use your own ice packs.

Sustainable private packaging and shipping with Post Loop
In addition to the expansion of the Post Loop range for B2C senders Swiss Post is now also making reusable packaging available to private individuals. Since the spring, Post Loop packaging in various sizes has also been available in 20 post offices throughout Austria for the first time. This means that anyone who wants to be environmentally conscious when sending private parcels not only sends them with Austrian Post, but also uses packaging that can be folded up again and returned to Austrian Post after receipt and removal of the contents.
