Sykell has received the Reusable Innovation Award 2026 as part of the Reuse & Logistics Leadership Days. The award was presented for Circular ERP, the pool management platform for reusable systems developed by Sykell and usable worldwide. The award is presented annually by the Initiative Reusable Systems Foundation (SIM) and the German Environmental Aid (DUH).

Circular ERP is a cloud-based solution designed to make reusable systems more efficient and transparent worldwide. By linking movement data via serialized codes, the platform enables comprehensive integration of all system participants – from manufacturers and fillers, through retail, to logistics providers and washing services. This interconnectedness not only creates transparency but also efficiency in processes, which is crucial for scaling reusable systems.

„Today's award underscores the relevance of a digital backbone for reusable systems,“ said Davide Mazzanti, CEO and co-founder of Sykell. He stressed that the platform was developed to ensure transparency and efficiency for all stakeholders in a scalable reusable system.

Meaning for the circular economy

Barbara Metz, Managing Director of the German Environmental Aid (DUH), highlighted the importance of the platform: „With its digital platform, Sykell impressively demonstrates what the future of successful reusable systems looks like: connected, transparent, and efficient. Circular ERP brings together manufacturers, retailers, logistics providers, bottlers, and cleaning service providers, thus creating the foundation for professional and scalable reusable management. At the same time, the company makes the ecological benefit of reusable systems easily measurable through reliable data. Sykell is therefore an exemplary case of the digital progress we urgently need for the widespread expansion of reusable systems, and it provides important impetus for a resource-saving circular economy.“

The Reusable Innovation Award is presented annually by the Foundation Initiative Reusable and the German Environmental Aid and recognises outstanding contributions to the economic and ecological development of reusable systems. In addition to Germany, Circular ERP is already in use in the United Kingdom and Denmark, underscoring the platform's international focus.

The Circular ERP platform links movement data based on serialised codes within each reusable system with the relevant stakeholders and automates circular workflows. This includes the collection, return, refurbishment, and process management of reusable packaging.
