From 24 to 27 June 2025, automatica in Munich will offer an extensive supporting programme to provide an in-depth insight into current trends in automation. The focus will be on artificial intelligence, mobile robotics and applications for SMEs - including in the field of packaging machines.
360° view of the future of production
With more than 770 exhibitors from 40 countries, automatica 2025 not only offers concentrated technology on the exhibition stands, but also a top-class supporting programme. From artificial intelligence and digital twins to mobile robotics - the programme covers key developments in the automation industry. Project manager Anja Schneider emphasises: „Our multifaceted supporting programme takes an all-round look at automation and robotics and offers a complete range of information. .
Packaging automation in focus for SMEs
A special programme item is aimed specifically at small and medium-sized companies that want to integrate packaging machines and robotics into their production. In the „TestZone: Robotics for SMEs“ (Hall A5.430), visitors can experience hands-on how easily and effectively automation solutions can be implemented today - even for typical packaging applications. The programme is complemented by workshops specifically for SMEs to share their experiences.

Artificial intelligence, connected machines and smart maintenance
The topic of AI runs through the entire exhibition centre: the special show „Connected Machines“ in Hall B5.224 shows how machines communicate with each other - a crucial prerequisite for automated packaging lines. In Hall B6.520, „Smart Maintenance+“ will focus on intelligent maintenance. Here, technologies will be presented that help to minimise downtimes and sustainably optimise processes - a key topic for plant operators in the packaging industry. .
Mobile robotics revolutionises logistics and production
The special show „Mobile Robots in Production: Mesh-Up“ (Hall B4.330) will demonstrate how automated guided vehicles (AGVs and AMRs) can take over complex logistics and handling processes - a technology that is increasingly being integrated into packaging lines. This is made possible, among other things, by cross-manufacturer control via the VDA 5050 interface. .
Premiere for healthtech and AI pioneers
A novelty this year: the Healthtech focus area, with topics such as robotics in medical technology and the two-day MedtecSUMMIT. In addition, the high-tech summit „munich_i“ on 24 June will bring together thought leaders from Microsoft, Meta, Nvidia and Google - with a look at the AI-supported automation of the future.
automatica 2025 not only provides decision-makers in the packaging and manufacturing industry with a current mood, but also concrete impulses for the implementation of automated processes - from digital maintenance to the use of robotic modules in packaging lines.
