Illig: variable and attractive IML in thermoforming

Machine manufacturer Illig is presenting its new packaging development division as a brand at interpack. The experts from Heilbronn will demonstrate this using the possibilities of in-mould labelling in thermoforming (IML-T) in combination with the hygienic filling and packaging of dairy products.

Machine manufacturer Illig is presenting its new packaging development division as a brand at this year's interpack. The experts from Heilbronn will be demonstrating this using the diverse possibilities of in-mould labelling in thermoforming (IML-T) in combination with the clean and hygienic filling and packaging of dairy products.

With live demonstrations, the system provider shows the Production of rectangular polypropylene cups on the IC-RDM 70K IML-T production line, mould area 680 mm x 300 mm, together with the compact RDML 70b IML unit. The 18-cavity mould used simultaneously produces three different decors with an hourly output of 17,280 cups. These are decorated in brilliant photo quality on all four side walls and on the base of the cup directly during moulding. Illig is currently the only machine manufacturer to offer the IML-T with all the necessary, optimally harmonised technology modules Completely from a single source.

The FSL 48 moulding, filling and clamping system designed by the company is tailored to the requirements of the Dairy industry orientated. The filler, which is designed on a CIP and SIP basis, can be equipped to meet the various hygiene requirements of the food industry up to and including the Hygiene class IV according to VDMA (hygienic filling machines). All common film materials suitable for FFS lines can be processed on the FSL 48, such as PS, PP, multilayer material (e.g. PS/EVOH/PE), APET and even films made from the biopolymer PLA.
