The winners of the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe 2026 have now been announced at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam. The event, which celebrated its tenth anniversary this year, impressively demonstrated how the European plastics recycling value chain is steadily gaining importance and contributing to the circular economy.
Ton Emans, President of Plastics Recyclers Europe, emphasised the importance of innovation within the recycling industry, particularly at a critical juncture for the European value chain. This year's award winners demonstrated how far the sector has come since the awards were first introduced and underscored the role of plastics recycling in a resilient and competitive European economy.
Beatriz Santos, Chair of the Jury and Editor of Sustainable Plastics, praised the diversity and quality of the entries. The selection of winners in seven categories presented the jury with a real challenge.
Excellent products and technologies
The ‚Plastic Packaging Product of the Year‘ award went to Parmalat’s 50% rPET White Opaque Bottle for UHT milk, an innovation that is particularly relevant in view of upcoming regulatory requirements.

The Milsani Topi rPS Dairy Cup was awarded ‚Product Technology Innovation of the Year‘, a joint project by Aldi Nord, Aldi Süd, Fernholz and Zott. This innovation is an important example of progress aligned with the upcoming PPWR targets.

The Eletta Ultra coffee machine by De‚ Longhi Appliances and Sirmax has been recognised in the ‘Automotive, Electrical or Electronic Product of the Year‘ category. The jury highlighted the successful integration of recycled materials into a complex product.
The ‚Building & Construction Product of the Year‘ award went to Neular's Unlimited T&G Board, which demonstrates the capability of recycled plastic in demanding construction applications.
In the ‚Household & Leisure Product of the Year‘ category, the L-Boxx Contractor from Bosch Power Tools and LyondellBasell was awarded. The product utilises a high proportion of post-consumer recycled materials and offers clear added value for the customer.
Spotlight Personalities
In the ‚Plastics Recycling Ambassador of the Year‘ category, Mattias Philipsson and Ansgar Thees Ovelgönne were honoured for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of European plastics recycling. Both have played a crucial role in driving the industry forward.
